Abstract

  • Previous research work has made some progress in addressing a number of these constraints.
  • Low awareness about risks and availability of cheap but high toxic pesticides has increased their misuse and abuse
  • The misuse of pesticides has raised concerns about health hazards linked to intoxications resulting in morbidity, deaths and environmental pollution
  • The need to put in place an important strategy to minimize pest pressure, frequency and rate of pesticides application to protect both the environment and man cannot be overemphasized
