Abstract

Several studies have suggested that information overload exist in organizations with adverse consequences on executives. Information Overload describes an excess of information that results in the loss of ability to make decisions, process information, and prioritise tasks. Few executives are aware of the extent of the problem. The study is to establish the nature, the scope and the extent to which the phenomenon of information overload do exist within a given industry and suggest strategies that executives could use to mitigate the phenomenon.
